Students graduating from either of these courses will possess a postgraduate qualification in Exercise Science, a field of work in which a three year undergraduate qualification is increasingly seen as insufficient.

The objective of both courses is to develop rehabilitation knowledge and competencies in the following areas:

Master of Medical Ultrasound

CSU’s Master of Medical Ultrasound aims to produce postgraduates with the skills and knowledge needed to undertake medical ultrasound at an excellent standard, while supporting them to develop academic skills necessary for ongoing professional development.

Charles Sturt University is a major provider of medical imaging practitioners in Australia, preparing radiographers and nuclear medicine technologists through the School of Biomedical Sciences.

Master of Medical Radiation Science

CSU’s Master of Medical Radiation Science is designed for practising medical radiation scientists to advance both their technological expertise and academic understanding of their chosen specialisation.

The Master of Medical Radiation Science is offered in four specialist areas:

* Computerised Tomography
* Magnetic Resonance Imaging
* Radiographic Image Interpretation
* Nuclear Medicine.

In addition students may opt to enrol in the generic course rather than one of the specialisations.

Bachelor of Medical Science

CSU’s Bachelor of Medical Science is an internationally recognised and accredited course with a proud history extending over 20 years. This course offers diverse career options in the health care industry.

The Bachelor of Medical Science will provide you with the theoretical and practical skills to gain employment as a scientific officer in a range of clinical and research settings. These include pathology laboratories neurophysiology, respiratory and cardiac departments and could provide graduate entry into pre-medical studies, medical research and secondary and tertiary teaching.

Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging)

CSU’s Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging), offered by distance education, focuses on the techniques and equipment used in diagnostic radiography and in other imaging modalities, to prepare graduates for a career in this highly technical area of health care.

Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health)

CSU's Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) aims to prepare graduates who have appropriate knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to work competently as a mental health worker within their own communities and mainstream mental health services.

Designed in collaboration with a community-based Aboriginal Mental Health Steering Committee and the Greater Southern Area Health Service, this course is specifically designed for Indigenous mental health practitioners to meet the needs of Indigenous communities.

Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic)

CSU’s Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) provides a pathway to working in emergency care and paramedic areas as a qualified ambulance officer.

This course is available on a full-time basis on the Bathurst Campus or by distance education.
