Doctor of Education

The Doctorate in Education is a professionally oriented degree for those who wish to further their careers in education or become professional researchers in educational settings.

The Doctor of Education is specifically designed for the professional development of those who work in the area of education and training. It aims to promote an informed and analytical approach to educational thought, practice and evaluation. Theory and research are both included to promote expertise and excellence in an area of educational significance.

Master of TESOL

CSU's Master of TESOL produces graduates capable of critically appraising TESOL research, theory, policy, and practice, and teaching and mentoring TESOL colleagues in an informed and proactive way.

CSU's Master of TESOL and Graduate Certificate in TESOL aim to:

* provide strong orientation to the key concepts and practices of the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
* encourage reflective and critical appraisal of TESOL theory, policy and practice
* improve professional competence and disciplinary knowledge

Master of International Education (School Leadership)

CSU’s Master of International Education (School Leadership) is a new and flexible degree providing a coursework or research program tailored for Ontario education professionals.

In the past decade, the number of Canadian teachers studying with CSU at the Masters level has increased. The Master of International Education (School Leadership) has resulted from intense collaboration between CSU and the Ontario Principals’ Council (OPC). The program is contemporary, exciting and relevant.

The Master of International Education (School Leadership) provides:

Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship)

CSU’s Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) is targeted to meet the needs of teachers who wish to become teacher librarians, and practicing teacher librarians without a full specialist qualification in teacher librarianship.

Master of Education (Inclusive Education)

The course is designed for graduates with qualifications in human development services such as teaching, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology or nursing where a special interest is an asset.

The course aims to:

* build upon previous study and experience with closer examination of theory underpinning practices aimed to help people with disabilities
* broaden students' awareness of differing perspectives on their own discipline through study of practices in a variety of settings and through analysis of relevant research reports

Master of Education

CSU’s Master of Education is a flexible degree providing a coursework program for professionals who are associated with the practice of education and wish to advance their skills, knowledge base and qualifications.

The degree program is designed to:

* encourage and permit critical appraisal of policy, theory and practice in the education professions
* improve the educator’s professional competence and enlarge the capacity for self development
* provide the basis for leadership in the educator’s chosen educational venture

Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training

CSU’s Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training course is designed to recognise the needs of TAFE teachers, and teachers or trainers in similar settings.

This course is designed to meet the needs of TAFE teachers, and teachers or trainers in similar settings such as business and community colleges, the Defence Forces, industry, and commerce and those working as private consultants. This course provides students the opportunity of 100% credit into the TAA4014 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)

CSU’s Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) course aims to produce highly capable teaching professionals whose knowledge and skills are significant both within and beyond the classroom.

Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)

CSU’s Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) aims to prepare primary school educators who are effective, critically reflective professional practitioners in any of the various contexts in which they may find themselves.

All graduates of this course will:

* be committed to education as a process of critical transformation of individuals, schools and society
* have a deep understanding of, and effective skill in the teaching of the full range of subject knowledge as a dynamic aspect of children’s curricular experience

Bachelor of Teaching

CSU’s Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to 5 Years) course is designed for Diploma in Children’s Services' graduates (from registered training organisations) with a view to building on their previous training and experience.
